Catch of the day goes to Thomas Wiggins with a SEVEN pound One ounce DOORMAT of a fluke caught up on the Garden State South Reef. When the guys peeled the cover off of the small cooler I couldn't believe my eyes there was a fluke that large folded up in there NICE AND CHILLED on ice. There was a good two plus pound sea bass in the cooler too.
Good news for the kids. Crabbing is coming back a bit and the snapper blues are large enough to catch on minnows in the lagoons now.
There have been a few more reports of blowfish and kingfish. The Middle Grounds in the Tuckerton Bay is the spot so far. Angers have not reported catches in the Great Bay, but I am confident that there will be a few folks trying their luck this week.

Today was pretty good for fishing. Radio chatter had a decent number of Fluke reported in the inlet. It seems like the Snapper blues are becoming more and more frequent every day. Peanut bunker have started appearing in the lagoons. A small number of blowfish were reported in the bay; our best guess is around the red ball for those. Also, a small number of Kingfish have been reported. Tog are being caught around the ledges of Little Sheepshead Creek, with a mix of small Sea bass and Triggerfish. We sold lots of Tuna bait today, so apparently Yellowfin are still running.
