No more news on stripers this afternoon.
Good shape on bloodworms. Tons more ordred for friday.
Tide charts might be ready for Saturday; just a little behind there too.
Grass shrimp trip this afternoon came up empty. Twenty degrees sent them hiding? We have about a quart from my catching efforts yesterday.
New spring hours start Wednesday morning; see you at 7:00am.
Still no sign of the black crown night herons. I guess they are still in Winter mode too.

Really didn't hear much today action-wise other than the keeper. There was also a keeper caught this morning up in the Mullica River by a boater.

Fishing Report:
I was bottom fishing for yellow perch with a jig-head and small pieces of earthworm. I had no luck for an hour or so. I spotted some Bluegill sunning themselves in the shallows but I was without a tackle box (a bobber specifically). I was about to leave so I dumped the remainder of my worms on the ground and went to drop my worm container in the trash. Low and behold - In the trash was a bobber. I scooped up the worms and put them back into the container. I rigged my pole with the bobber and fished for another half hour and was able to string this 7" Bluegill. They were actively feeding (but not aggressively) in the sunny shallows.

The next batches of clam and bloodworms are due tomorrow. We do not have a specific time, it could be anytime after 11 a.m.
It's been exciting the past couple of days to see some anglers through the store anticipating the fishing to break loose anytime now. It's good to see the smiles and hope again. It is so much nicer talking about fish then growling about politics and the price of gas.
Word is that there was a peak water temperature at 46 degrees earlier this week. One lone angler had FOUR SHORT BASS up to 26 inches at Graveling Point during the low tide event of Sunday afternoon. Mullica River activity up at Hay Road is producing bass to 26 inches as well with a good showing of White Perch up to a pound and a half. Little by little the fish catching activity is picking up.
