Still no word from any anglers having luck finding stripers locally on the ocean or in the Little Egg Inlet. Fresh clam sales were hopping this afternoon. There will be quite a few anglers giving it a shot tomorrow morning.
Big bass of the day was weighed in by Bill MacClinchy who focused his efforts in the Mouth of the Mullica River. What a surprise to see a 29.1 pound 44" bass come around the back this afternoon. His fish was caught during the falling tide.
Good news is that we have a decent weekend ahead of us. Yesterday, the forecast for Sunday was North East and that is not a good wind to fish the ocean. Now Sundays forecast shows North West winds 5 to 10kts. That's nice.
Due to the weather conditions, we have had a lack of ocean fishing effort. We do not know if the croakers are still present or if it is still worth the effort to troll the false albacore. My best suggestion is to be prepared for anything.

Hi-Flier report: "The bass are here and on the feed. It was non-stop action today in Barnegat Bay with 26 to 32 inch fish. Live bait is the magic. I had live spots and hooked a fish for every bait I brought.....I'm bringing more tomorrow!" ~Capt. Dave

Back in the creeks/lagoons here the freshwater has still not quite cleared out. Dick Miller reported on his fishing trip for live spot, out where the 4 or 5 lagoons intersect in Mystic Island. Water was still very cloudy, they fished with chum, bloodworms and fishbites and didn't even get so much as a bite. Other spot anglers were able to still catch a few off of Graveling Point, so the numbers are surely diminished, but they are not gone quite yet.

We are starting to hear more and more striper reports each day. Not a lot of keepers, but seems there are plenty of schoolies around. Most of the action is in the area of the mouth of the Mullica River. Lack of report from Little Egg Inlet fishing anglers due mostly to weather conditions. Endless large surf has the inlet stirred up too. I realize that bass like this, but boaters that value their lives tend not to.
No word from anyone trying to find kingfish or blowfish this week. A couple of nice days and anglers will get a chance to give it another try.
The tog anglers and the tog haven't been deterred by the weather at all. Little Sheepshead Creek land based fishermen are catching their keepers every day this week with the bigger fish hitting sixteen inches. Action is enough to keep it fun and there are enough quality fish to put a nice dinner together.

Fishing Report:
I want to first say that when I came in your shop, I always ask what's new and happening. The young guy behind the counter was 100% on with helpful hints. At high tide we were out by the Fish factory after nothing all morning long. We anchored up using Green crabs and the Tautog appeared as if on queue. We caught a total of 6 with the two we kept just over 16'. Thanks again.
