Sandy Hook and Raritan Bay Fluke

Went out late on Sat morning, 10:00am.

Ran up to the nude beach and fished there untill slack tide and picked up a bunch of shorts.

Seems like alot of the fish were right around 17 1/2". How do they do that LOL Last year I caught a bunch around 17"

We ran over to the Sandy Hook Reef and drifted there for awhile and caught some short sea bass.

Ran back into the bay and fished by the Keyport #3 can and caught one keeper 18 1/2"

Didn't take the day very seriously as I was taking out my father in law, who knows nothing about fishing. (I should have taken a picture of him with the spinning reel upside down before I yelled at him and switched the reel handle over to the other side)

I think the best fish of the day, in his eyes, was the sea robbin. He loved that damn thing.

On another note, It looks like the bass fishing has slowed down quite a bit in the bay and has moved outside for the most part.

    Hey Hotshot 1

No, I didn't go last week.

Jeff went out all night on Wed night and fished 4 tides (yes he does have a problem) on his boat and only picked up one bass for his efforts.

He was going to do a turn around on Thurs night on my boat, but due to his results the night before, we just hung out at the dock.

Are you fishing Mako Mania up here?

I am thinking about going out on Sat and see if we can find any sharks. The weather doesn't look very promising at this point, but I will be keeping a close eye on it.

    Intrested?

I would love to go but I work Saturday.. I 'm going to be away the weekends of all the shark tournaments, tough time of year for me to do anything. You might want to send James aka Northern Ivy a pm he may be interested in hooking up for a shark trip, he's a lot green but always in for a trip.
