Rockfish Shootout VA Beach ASA

Well since I have a full crew on board, I can slack off a little bit.

I have to say this there are some great people from this board on board! Hunt4fish is a riot and hotrodmarlin keeps him going.

We also have Steve from the Boston Big Game that sponsor's the Oak's bluff Shark Tourney. I don't think Steve knows what to make of this crew.

Hunt4fish came up with some good homo/fountain songs at the Contender party last night. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I think Rockhound lost a lot of sleep last night trying to come up with one better.

It's awesome fishing with great people!!

Fishing is good 30lber and a couple 20's in the box. A 10 lb flounder trolled up and in the box.too. Heard word of a 50 in the hole.

3 fish days and we are allowed to weigh 3 fish per day. Over 300 entries in the tourney.

Awesome fishing yesterday!! Fishing off of Cape Henry birds
and bait were thick!!

At one point yesterday the bait was so think the sounder dropped from 40 to 1ft....THICK!

I also have to thank the numerous reject boats that ran down our lines x3 yesterday. I was able to snap a picture of the tart unwrapping 25yds of Suffix braid off his prop. Good thing my reels had brand new line on them!!

We had a good fish day yesterday. All 12 rods lit up at once, It was absolute MADNESS I would reel one in...yep small let em hang. Chuck had 3 rods in his hands and one by one went down the gunnel. LIT UP!!!

The pictures are incredible and will tell all!

Thursday I caught a bird on my new Zebra 9er rig. Almost lost a few fingers. First time I had to leader a flying rat.

Thursday weigh in 71.99

Friday 3 fish weigh in 97ish, I decided to break out my trinadad 30's and got another 42.92 happy day! We just need triple fifthies today and we will sitting pretty for the local tourney.

As for the ASA no one has a clue what the stat's are but we feel comfortable saying were near the top if not the top. But there are a few boats that choose today as thier fish day.

Fishing is sloooowwww today. We got 90lbs in the box and Undisputed has a 20lber on hold and the rest are on credit and he is writing checks his ass can cash!.

The founntain boys are doing well. Rockhound is trailing right behind us and got us with .5 or so on the local tourney yesterday but we whooped him overall!

We have some great pics and 1 too many butt shots courtesy of the additonal cameras on board. Maybe they will be nice.

I think by the end of the day these carolina boys will officially be rockfish freaks like us.These guys made some of thier personal best 3x's over.

ASA Shootout
Virginia Beach

There were two tournaments going on at once ASA Shootout and Rockfish shootout.

ASA tournament was a 1 day, 2 fish weigh in and captains choice of 3 fishing days.

Rockfish shootout is a 3 day tourney with seperate entry fee's each day, basically it's like fishing 3 seperate tourneys, 3 days in a row, entry and calcuttas each day. I think to get in all the calcutta's and fish all 3 days was $1800.00 a day. So you can win all 3 days. Sorry I didn't catch the team names that won other than a Max King with a Contender in 7th. I know the same captain won 2 out of 3 and I walked away with an 07 21' Contender Valued at $50,000.00 plus a lot of cash to the tune of 100k. I know 3rd place pay out was at $50,000.00 and 1st had to be much more!

We had a nice 4TH PLACE finish and I took 1st for lady angler
