Friday night fishing provided a slow bite for the overnight fleet from the south wilmington to the poormans canyon. Most boats were on the hundred line with good water that came from up north and pushed down but the fish still showed up in the north canyons and the south spencer.
We trolled to the baltimore with very few bites anywhere on the troll, we marked fish but the wind shut the troll bite off. We did manage a few dolphin off the balls on the edge of the baltimore.
We ran into the hambone were there was plenty off fish marks but no bites. We netted fresh butter fish out the dock which is certainly unusual. All the marks on the hambone turn out to be monster bluefish up to 18lbs. Released 30 bluefish then went trolling and caught plenty of false albacores and a 50lb bluefin tuna. Now reports from the night bite is good again with yellowfins. The bottom fishing with Tautogs is great too. Call us to book a trip with this great fall weather.
