I made an unexpected trip back to MD last week, and after a tough week, I had to get down to the Island to just unwind and reflect on the weeks events. My Uncle and I headed down to Hoopers Island Friday evening to try our luck fishing from the shores of the Swan Island Gunning Club. Armed with a couple rods and a half dozen peelers we slogged through the marsh to see if we could score some Stripers.

This was my 1st boat in '87...she had been on the hard since I departed for the Air Force and this is where Isabell deposited her in '03
Big thanks to my buddy Chris Hessert from http://www.manhattanfly.com/ for providing one of the sweetest fishing shirts around.
Not looking good as my 1st catch was this...
Finally starting catching our target species...
My Uncle and I always make the gentlemen's wager...$1 for first fish
Me and my cousin Eddie with the 2 biggest of the night
Since I wasn't sure when I'd get back down, I ran down again Sunday night to try my luck. Eddie and I caught quite a few, mostly undersized Trout, Spot, Bluefish and Stripers. My dad stopped by to give me a little encouragement.
Right before quitting time, I was able to convince this nice 24" Striper to join us for dinner.
Sorry about pictures size/quality...only had the DROID.
