Well. I got stood up Saturday so I called my daughter and her husband and they jumped on board with my 2 grandsons Stevie, and Will. We hit some shallow reeefs sites and had some great seabass fishing and some nice fluke. I promised Willy that he would be famous so here he is with his biggest sea bass.

The smile tells the story and he and his family enjoyed them for dinner to end a great time.
Monday we were supposed to fish the schoolie BFTs but since there were none to be found, I decided to run off to the Wilmington with Mary Johnson and her party. It was a poor report for inshore but the offshore sounded OK. It was. There was a 3 foot swell, and a light wind chop. Water 73 degrees, Perfect! None had ever caught a tuna so the pressure was on. We shut down just inside the tip and set up with my customary 9 or 10 rods and started to troll. I crossed the tip and swung down the East wall. About 10 minutes after I explained that this fishing takes great amounts of patience, 6 rods folded. GOTIMON! Each angler caughet their first tuna and smiles were as broad as the sea. Of course, these were not giants but they were plenty big for all hands aboard. We got them all despite tangles. sore arms, and some inexperience.

We had a few more bites and caught another as well as about a dozen or so 5 lb dolphin. 5 for 8 on Yellowfins to 35 lbs, also. All in all, not a bad day for the first trip of the season. The report was right. As we came inshore it was downright sh&%#y. The seas ran to 5 feet but we slid through them at 19 kts easily. Can't wait to get there this weekend. i should be there Friday and Sunday if the weather swamis allow it
