Ready to fall on my sword
For the love of Pete! What has happened to my New Jersey this season. I have watched the temps offshore dropping now for two weeks and backing the mako migration back to where they would be in mid or late May. To add insult a larger body of blue sharks than I can recall has set up camp so thick that I almost wish I had doggies to deal with. At least I don't get worked over on the leader from them and can get my hooks back!
Then somebody please clue me in on what has happened to our bluefish here? You know the blunt nosed grey green salt water pirhanas that are usually in stupid numbers every place you go? Spent 18 hours trying to build up a supply of them yesterday only to wind up with seven and three of them too small for even bait.
My usual flue spots are some on and some off at a time they are all usually on fire... Ran through sandy hook, the bay, the rivers and other than bunkers I didn't mark or see hardly a fish... This is frustrating... I considered harry berry but the paperwork to follow would be a *****. I was a good boy and waited for the water to start warming before heading up. Its colder now!

Your right about the blues, usually they can't be avoided but I haven't seen one
I hear the rocks are loaded though
Bassin has been hot if your looking to put a bend in your stick. No deragotory glorified river carp comments please

I wouldn't call them carp. We all know they are sewer trout...
Caught a couple yesterday while looking for blues. On on an umbrella trolling and one off the no fishing bridge I fish on...
Heard the party boats at your end are having to run to barney ridge but they are picking... Also heard though that Jamaica ran up to Monster ledge to whack some...
All these blue sharks are using up ungodly piles of blues and we arent catching any to replace them while sharkin. Also an unprcedented beating of my shark hooks and rigs too. Need to drive to your end to restock wire and mustad supply. All the shops that had any offshore stuff on this end have gone out of business.

I use a green machine
If you want doggies, you can get all you want out at the Ledge.
The water has been absolutely crazy! We are definitely way outside a normative pattern here.
Add to all of the above mentioned points that we have had quite a run of big sea bass inshore.
The water is cold, cold cold. Ling inshore in June...
