that fish came out of the clear green water in the winter surf. our resident schools of surf fish tend to be silvery pink as opposed to copper like the fish inshore.

another blue tail.....they say the coloring comes from consuming crabs....dont know if it is true or not.

Ain't much that's more fun than "bluetail" fishin'... and you're right, they're THICK right now. I took my boy Ryland (4) and nephew Ethan (6) out on Saturday inside Lynnhaven. One toss of the net and we had 40 mullet in the 6" range (all I could think was FLOUNDER).

We hit 3 or 4 spots and ended up with 15 fish to 24 inches. All with LIT UP blue tails... PRETTY FISH!

HOLWACHAGOT - GREAT pic of the little man with the bluetail. He'll cherish that one for a lifetime!
