Changed it up a bit this time ...Fished with friends Backdoor Billy, Anthony, Mike, and Vito on his 28 ft Osmond -B .
Anthony started us with a 7.8# first fish which set the "net" limit for the day.
Not good drifting conditions and we muddled around for a good part of the morning actually wishing for the south wind. We started fishing with alot of company but most left the area with the lack of keepers coming up.
We got the south wind we knew was coming and the fish started to chew. I set the hook on a bite and said "That's All Fish, Baby". 3 minutes later as Vito netted the fish and flopped it on the deck I just looked at everyone and said "Game Over". 31.5" x 12.8 - 13.0 on the hand held scale. We continued to fish until 1:30 then drove back from Elberon to weigh in the fish. Inlet was fierce and crowded as was inside the river. Weighed in @ 12.9! Drove the boat back to Belmar then hit the picnic.
We wound up with 16 or 17 keepers; 12.9, 8.0, 7.85, 5.8, 5.6 5.0 and some nice 3 and 4 pounders.
First Place $4,500.00
Three Calcuttas (after mandatory 10% donation) $27,000.00
Sweet, Nice going guys. Thats a nice pay out for a fluke tourney. But I'm dissapointed there is no rubber chicken in the pics. Keep up the good work on them flatties you guys got them dialed in.Tim
