Capt. Jimmy Elliott had another fine day of mackerel jigging with Miss Belmar Princess on Sunday -- and he didn't have to go far as the fish were on the west side of the Mud Hole. The mackerel were of mixed sizes, and Elliott said it now appears he belatedly has the peak fishery that should have occured weeks ago. Elliott noted that he still has some spots open on Friday night's cod trip to the Montauk area. Reports from there the last couple of days have been very good.
