Thumbs up Played Hooky with my Son Today

Decided at last minute this morning to run down to the lower bay for some drum after my noon settlement...surprised my son and pulled him out of school at lunch(wished my dad did that!!) and went looking for my oldest boy(12) Matt's first drum...My partner Dirty D had the rods all rigged (we used lighter sticks) and off we went.....it was on in the first 15 minutes after setting anchor!!! he landed a 50+ lber on a spinning rod and it was a real battle..we landed a few more bigger ones that we released and broke off a bunch more...great day on the bay and a unforgettable memory for both of us.We have caught a lot of these over the years but have never kept even one...until now... Looks like Drum Parmesan for the boys tomorrow...life's too short...Carpe Diem...seize the day!!!

Congrats...Drum is awesome eating. Glad to hear the bite is still on and that you let a few go. I hear its been a slaughter out there this year.

That's pretty cool. Can't wait for my son to get a little older so I can take him.
