February 1, 2005: The OVER UNDER is finally back at. After almost 3 months
without wetting a line, we are now into our Bahamas season in full gear.
The offshore fishing at Hawks Nest has been a bit sporadic, but there are
some VERY nice fish being caught. At the top of the list is this #116 Wahoo
caught off Columbus Point at Cat Island the week of January 17th. Last week
the first Blue Marlin of the season was released off of Columbus Point as
well. The OVER UNDER has been running great, with two recently overhauled
engines, and raising fish as usual. We've been bagging nice Wahoo, Dolphin
and some smaller yellowfin tuna on most trips. With the new moon
approaching, we expect the Wahoo bite to peak in early February and are
looking for more 100# class fish to come to the dock. On the flats the
bonefishing has been exceptional. We've had plenty of nice days over the
last couple weeks and the bonefish have been around in good numbers. The
top catch of the month was guest who managed to release 10 bonefish on fly
in one day. Plenty of fish are around and it's just a matter of having the
weather continue to cooperate. As you'll see below the weather has been
nice enough to allow us to get some free diving in. Plenty of nice sized
lobster available diving the heads and reef on the South and South-West
sides of the Island.
