    Opening Day MD Striper Season

Decided not to fish in the morning due to the known fact that it would have been absolutely crazy. Picked my buddy up at 1:30 from Sandy Point and had lines in just north of the Bay Bridge by 1:45. Trolled north on the dumping grounds towards Love Point Buoy. Had a knock down on 6 arm white umbrella with 10 oz. chute, unfortunately came unglued. Felt like a really really nice fish. 1/2 mi south of the LP Buoy swung back south and about 2 miles after turning got hit on the WWB 2 oz. white chute/white w/ red Atom lure tandem. 35" in the box. (fish hit the Atom, this lure has been hot for me the last 3 spring seasons accounting for about 75% of my fish. Caught my biggest striper to date at 44" off this lure 2 seasons ago.) Tide swung around and it was wind against tide and got a little choppy especially with all the boat traffic of people heading in. Marked a bunch more fish but didn't get any more hits.

We were out yesterday too got out semi early started trolling around 7:45 South of the bridge towards Bloody Point. Ended up with 3 fish all together, 2 keepers(33 and 30in) threw a 27 back. Caught one on tandem 6oz-9oz chartreuse bucktail/6 in shad and the two others on 6 arm umbrellas one white one chartreuse. We had a two other nice knockdowns but nothing. Not a bad day, tons on boats though When i got home and cut them up the larger one had a fresh whole 11in bunker in his stomach

We fished the Boatyard Bar and Grill Tournament. We caught 13, but nothing bigger than 38". I was not too crowded in my opinion and the Boatyard party was great as usual.

We landed 11 fish by 11am with 4 on board (snagged two baitfish too). No real slobs. Largest was only about 40", smallest was about 33". We released fish with roe in the bellies. We were in the TPL/BPL area and slightly away from the crowds.

Grats on the fish, saw your post on TF about the Judge boats helping each other out. From the sounds of it maybe I should have gone early, seems like most guys did really well in the AM. Really just wasn't in the mood to deal with all the traffic.

It wasn't that bad out there, especially if you worked south of Bloody Pt. We had no issues all day and the bite was on all morning and the skys were blue with no wind.

I stayed on the western side heading south to TPL. Got 3 fish, 33,35 and the a 38 that weighed 26lbs. Fat girl she was. Got them all on umbrellas. Planer boards resulted in nada. I think all the boats pushed the fish deep.

I was out again today. Beautiful day on the water. We ended up with 12 fish with the largest going only 38".

I was in the same area as opening day but I had a HARD TIME staying on the bait. I would swing and circle after a hookup and they would be gone. I would have to troll around to find it again. Still a good day.

I cant wait for the big girls to come back out of the rivers from their spawn. Should be a week or so!

    Anyone fishing the MSSA?
