Its the week of the Tent Sale. Going to be busy around here.


The Old Inlet Memorial Day Weekend Tent Sale will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 22-24. Open 8am each day. Closing at 6pm on Friday and Saturday. Sale is over 4pm on Sunday.



Factory representatives will be on hand offering great deals on fishing tackle. Star Rods, Sea Striker, Gotcha Plug, Clarkspoon, Anglers Choice, Old Harbor Outfitters, Fisherman's Eyewear, Calcutta, P-Line, Fishbites, and Yeti Coolers.



P-Line will be offering 12-15lb test monofilament for a Penny A Yard. Spinning reels only.



Great weather forecasted for the holiday weekend.



Decent striper bite in the Inlet. It seems to have been slowed up a bit by the recent inclement weather, but should rebound with more favorable skies.



The bite has been different most every day. The time of day, tide and location of the bite within the Inlet has been highly variable. It is changing day to day. Thats the only way to put it.



Report from the front line from Sam C:
last night may 17 into may18 was windy . but, there were fish at the end of the south jetty .. just couldnt reach some of them.. tons of bait was there..only seen about 5 keepers caught from both jettys total .. i released a 33" and two little ones.. some fish were tight up against the rocks in some areas of the inlet that were seen.. fished all night not to good.



The one consistent thing is that eels, bucktails and swim shads are all working.



Look for a mixed bag of bluefish, kingfish and the ever present sharks and skates on the beach. Fresh bunker is your best bet and is available.



Please be advised that tautog season is closed in Delaware waters from Monday, May 11 through June 30.



Old Inlet will have live green crabs and hopefully, live sand fleas in stock during the closure for those fishing for tautog in other areas.



Good flounder fishing in the bays. Current flounder regs - minimum size 18.5 inches with a 4 fish a day limit.



Please be advised that Old Inlet is converting to a computer based fishing license sales platform pursuant to state regulations. We will only be capable of writing two licenses at a time. This will cause backups during busy times of the day, especially on the weekends.
