Finally some action to report from the beach. One short striper and small bluefish caught in the surf.

Improving striper bite in the Indian River Inlet. Charlie Heite reported 4 stripers and one legal flounder from the southside rocks by the campground.

Encouraging news from over the holiday weekend. Striped bass up to 35 inches reported on the incoming tide Easter Sunday.
3/4 ounce red and white bucktail bounced on the bottom with the current did the trick.

A quick update heading into the weekend - Striper fishing has been steadily improving the last three days. Half a dozen or so keepers reported.
Reports of few herring caught as well.

Finally some good news to report. There were some short striped bass caught in the Indian River Inlet over the weekend on the last of the incoming tide.
Let's hope the season is now fully underway. We have stripers, tautog and flounder around.
Just took a picture of a 22 inch flounder caught by 7 year old Lauren Buckel, of West Chester PA. Lauren was fishing with Pop Pop Jim Yannick on Sunday and had her keeper flounder before Pop Pop had his line in the water.
Now all we need is for the weather to cooperate. Live green crabs, live bloodworms and fresh bunker are available.
