What a difference a week makes. Things are really starting to click into gear on the fishing front. Stable sunny but not hot weather has helped considerably.

Warm water - summer - fish are starting to show in good numbers. Spot have been reported in the Indian River Bay and on the beach. Croakers have been caught around the #20 buoy in the Indian River bay (Thx to Rick Smith for the report). Craokers will hit strips of squid and bloodworms.

In addition to the spot, there are snapper blues on the beach. 3 R's road has been good as has Savage's Ditch. Not many kingfish to report. The few we have heard about have come from the Fenwick beach.

The kayak navy has been doing well catching big sharks on the beach. They are paddling whole mackerel baits out a couple of hundred yards.

Bloodworms, finger mullet and fresh bunker are the best baits on the beach for the blues, kings and spot. Incoming tide has been the most productive.

Small schoolie stripers are in the Inlet in good numbers. The best bite is at night. Drifting live fleas is working well. As are live eels and dark bucktails and swim shads.

There are still some nice flounder in the Inlet. Pink gulp baits are the ticket on a lead head or Spro bucktail. This same rig is working for doormat flounder out at B Buoy.

Togging has been fair. There are a few sheepshead and black drum along the rocks as well.

The first white marlin was caught out of Indian river last weekend. Bluefin tuna are being taken on the troll in the area of the hot dog.
