ANYONE TRYING FOR FLATTIES YET? HOPING TO GO NEXT WEEKEND
Heard of 1 short caught there last weekend.
They are in Chinco so they should be to you very soon.
Noahs been catching them all ready right out front of our canal . He,s been testing one of Akes suppliers new new shrimp fly out .
Fished Wachapreague on Sunday, water was chilly and caught a bunch of short fish. Giving it another shot on friday and saturday this week...
Don't forget, the season doesn't open until the 13th or something.![]()
SATURDAY, April 18, 2009: After a very slow start to the flounder season, due to nasty weather, we did see a few fish landed today. There was a bite around the Rt. 90 Bridge and a couple were plucked from the water down in the South Bay near the Verrazano Bridge as well. Shiners and sand eels were the ticket. Flounder regulations in Maryland this year is 18 inch minimum with 3 fish per angler.
A couple of boats ventured to the African Queen and the ATT wrecks and came back with some tautog. The "Ursula Priscilla" got 16 on the ATT wreck and the "Get Sum" had 8 tog. All caught on green crabs.
FRIDAY, April 17, 2009: Went fishing in the Chesapeake Bay on the "Marli" today for a little catch and release striper fishing before the start of the season tomorrow. Got a late start... never got out on the water until almost 4 pm. Dead low tide. Once the tide started moving we started catching a nice class of fish... all over 35 inches and FAT. Trolled umbrellas and mojos. The "Marli" sails out of Solomon Island. Great boat with a great Captain and crew.
Hope that helps
