Ocean Explorer Fishing report, Belmar 9-2
Daily Fishing Report From Captain Bobby Quinn
9-1-11

For those of you that dont live near the ocean, just look at what we have been fishing in the past few days.Absolutely gorgeous ocean conditions.Today I tried to get back into the area we were catching fish before the storm, boy was that a mistake!!We basically caught nothing all morning.Just a few sea bass. There was just no life,so I backtracked a bit and actually found pretty good life on some offshore stuff. Some nice fluke, fair amount of short fluke, some robins, lots of skates etc....But overall if we would have spent the whole day in this area we would have done decent I think.Check out some of the keeper fluke from today.Pat Farley had the high hook with two keepers.Looking forward to getting back into this area tomorrow.See ya then.
NIce sea bass from yesterday.
8-31-11 Another pretty day out, flat calm and beautiful.Started out catching fluke pretty quick.Picked away at the short fish, maybe 15 or so a drift, not many keepers though.Maybe 1-2 at most for three or so drifts. Then the wind let up and our drift did also and we struggled for a while.Moved around a bit, stopped on a few wrecks and a few rocks and caught some real nice sea bass. Some ended up with some large bass to make up for the fluke which helped out. Most had some fluke or bass to eat for dinner, some did not but I would say most did which is good.Water cleaned up alot since yesterday to so we should see an improvement in both the fluke and the bass as the week goes on given some good conditions.Tomorrow looks very nice again, see ya then.

9-2-2011 GREAT DAY FISHING big THANKS FROM ALL OF US!!!
Great trip today for mostly all of your anglers. This was our second trip on your boat and it will definately not be our last.
Hit them on the head on the first stop ( I actually had the first keeper on the boat, I think the first on the boat also) and it was non stop "fish on" most of the day. I heard a couple of people say it was there best flounder day ever!!
My buddy Gus, his daughter Devon and I fished today and we had over 85 fish, good day for catch and release and as before your great mates had baits ready and full all day, had the nets at ready and our keepers filleted up, bagged and ready to grill on the way in. One other great thing that a lot of people should know is you found a very productive spot that we never lost any rigs! Good job finding them!
Hope the flounder season will continue good now that the storm has passed and hopefully the debris fields you navigated through will blow out soon.
Thanks for a great day out on the water.
