Ocean Explorer Fishing report, Belmar 9-1
Daily Fishing Report From Captain Bobby Quinn
8-31-11 Another pretty day out, flat calm and beautiful.Started out catching fluke pretty quick.Picked away at the short fish, maybe 15 or so a drift, not many keepers though.Maybe 1-2 at most for three or so drifts. Then the wind let up and our drift did also and we struggled for a while.Moved around a bit, stopped on a few wrecks and a few rocks and caught some real nice sea bass. Some ended up with some large bass to make up for the fluke which helped out. Most had some fluke or bass to eat for dinner, some did not but I would say most did which is good.Water cleaned up alot since yesterday to so we should see an improvement in both the fluke and the bass as the week goes on given some good conditions.Tomorrow looks very nice again, see ya then.
8-30-11 Made it out with a light crowd today and had real nice conditions on the water.Flat calm and a nice breeze gave us good drifting conditions but it did take us a couple of hours to find some fish but we did find em and I was surpised at the life we had. Each drift we would have maybe 20-25 shorts and maybe 1-2 keepers a drift.Pretty good considering the weather we just had, should get better each day and now that I know where they are we should have even a better day tomorrow.See ya then..
