Left the Fishing Center heading towards the Sausages where I had some success last week. We didn’t have any knockdowns so we headed towards the Hot Dog. About 3 miles from the Dog we had 8 of our 12 rods go down (all bluefish). As we circled the dog and made the inner loop we had, what appeared to be a white hit our flat line but didn’t get a real good visual of him. Then shortly after that we had 6 more rods go down (all bluefish). We decided to troll out to the 40 line. On the way out we hit another school of feeding bluefish and put a few more in the box. Once we got to the 40 line, we came across a well defined rip but just a current rip. We trolled it a bit with no hook ups. We trolled around a weed/debris/foam line were we picked up a small dolphin about 12 inches but it never made it to the boat. We trolled around for a bit and had what looked like a marlin in our spread but he won’t take the bait. Then we decided to troll back to the Dog. We came across a couple of schools of feeding bluefish about 6-8 miles east of the Dog. We ended the day with 2 marlin playing in our spread and about a doz of big blues in the box.
