Many fish are stiill being caught in the bays and inlets. there seem to be more shorts than legal fish. I talk to a lot of fisherman and hean anything from 10 to 1 to 100-1 keeper to throwback ratio. Party boats in Beach haven are reporting a load of fluke in the inlet and the ocean although the throwbacksare the bulk of the catch.

    Surf.

All along NJ there are reports of good fluke fishing on the beached during the day. At LBI and a little north a lot of sharks are being caught on the beaches at night using bunker.

Kingfish are spread all along the coast. Fish bite and blood worms seem to work the best. In many cases the fish are just beyond the breakers.Kingfish are dominating the catch south of LBI.

    Bluefish

Bluefishing has died off in the last week or two. Big Jamaica feom Brielle reported that they finallygot back into good bluefishing 14 miles SE off Brielle with a great trip Monday where almost every one caught their limit.

    Canyons

Brennan Marine in Somers Point reports that the Cummings family on the Bonnie Lee boated 16 yellowfin in the 50-60 lb range, at the Tom's Canyon Ballyhoo, spreader bars and green machines seem to get the job done. Canyon Runner Charters from Point Pleasant reported great catches of yellowfin, , 69 between 2 boats, in the Hudson Canyon. they ended up keeping about 14 per boat and tagged and released the rest. they also released another large blue marlin (the 4th in 10 days) estimated to be about 400 lbs,Monday they were in the Hudson again and did well on yellowfin along with a wahoo and a 160lb swordfish. Most were caught at night and they feel that a little south of the Hudson is the right place to go next. The Wilmington Canyon seems quiet except for reports of some white marlin.
