The number of accidents dropped 38% since 1998 when mandatory ed began for personal watercraft.
Last year the number of accidens rose to 143 even though the number of registered boats dropped from
205,000 to 185,000. State police attribute last years rise to the fact that the new law forced mandatory reporting of accidents. Full story at link above
