After a weekend of slamming a monster tournament winning mako and dealing with billions of blues I took my game to the beaches of northern Monmouth County. Tuesdays outing produced only things with legs. A grands slam of crabs so to speak.
Today I gave it another shot. It was just nice to let the wind blow and relax with the little fish. I was butt deep in sea robins including one that was by far trye biggest robbin I have seen in my 45+ years of banging the north Jersey suds. It looked like a cod with wings and a conservitive estimate would put it over three pounds!
Any way I kept working the break bouncing a little rubber jig similar to a pearl fin-s. Among the assorted trash that was making its way to the sand was a stargazer! Again years since I had seen one of them. Then the flatties showed up and after a dozen throw backs I managed a couple keepers.
No it wasn't the high seas and big game but I enjoyed it no less. You guys are lucky up here. Down in Florida its either no fishing or private property with no parking along our shores... Enjoy it. I did...
