    Saltwater Report:

    7/10/2010

Some fluke being caught from north end of LBI and IBSP. Also heard of some kingfish being caught from the LBI surf. I can not tell you where because most are tight lipped about it. Few bluefish are also running around the surf but it is hit or miss, you have to be there when they are there. Also had some reports of brown sharks being caught from the surf when using bunker.

    Bay / Jetty Report:
    7/10/2010
The fluke action from Barnegat Inlet jetty has been pretty good. People are getting a few keepers now off the rocks both north and south. The Manasquan River is also doing pretty good from boats, bulkheads, and docks as well. Barnegat Bay the best action is from around Oyster Creek Channel, Double Creek Channel, and the BI BB bouys. Great Bay around the clam stakes is your best bet. Tuckerton Bay the Intercoastal Waterway from 114 to 116 seems to be the best bet right now. Gulp is still the best to use but other types of bait is still working good. Snappers are scattered throughout the bays now as well. If you want to sit back and relax throw a crab trap in as crabbing is doing pretty good now.

    Fresh Water Report:

Few fishing because of the showers we had. I did have a few reports that a few bass and catfish were caught. The little rain we had didn't help much but the rain today should help a lot.

Grumpy's Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Seaside Park, 7-11-10

    Time for wire!
    Saturday, July, 10, 2010 at 3:44AM
The meat eaters have arrived. We have sharks, mostly on a night bite, enjoying bunker and biting off lots of rigs. Browns are the most common ones and all of these toothy creatres need to be treated with respect. Shark identification can be tricky and the possession rules are complicated so catch and release is your best bet. Blues in the 2-3 lb class were around again yesterday. We didnt hear much on Bass.
The evil weathermen have returned from a day trip to Ripleys belive it or not Museum and have put this forecast together - Showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds around 5 mph...becoming north this afternoon. Chance of rain 80 percent. Are they crying wolf again?
Have you noticed what a strange and wonderful relationship I have with Mike? He is strange and I am wonderful!

Jingles Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Beach Haven 7-11-10

    Sat July 10th

Water temp is 80 this morning at 4:30 am with a lite southerly wind and air temp of 77.

More and more toothy sharks showing up on the beach with the warming water temps.

The last 2 days with the swells the surfers are luving life. Many surfers are fisherman. They are also always observing what is going on around them. They are starting to see larger fins around them and tend to think they are the brown sharks. If you are looking to fish for something bigger to fish for the conditions are good. Warm water, high tides in the evening and cow nose rays are present..

(Thanks for the pic Mickey and Nick)

Nice of the rain to hold off so people got their morning fishing in today. Once again people are catching all you can throw backs in the inlet but up in the bay area109- 113 are some keepers.

The rain has the sun bather off of the beach but the fisherman don't care about the rain.

Jim from Scranton had this 8 1/2 bass today on one side of the jetty and another fellow had a keeper flike on the other side. ( Beach Haven Terrace)

    Scott's Daily Fishing Report

    Saturday, July 10, 2010 /\/\/\ 6:05pm
A wet day, but the morning was actually pretty nice. It could have been a blustery day and no could have gone fishing. Instead, I heard about some fluke, small blues and actully a WEAKFISH or two.
There aren't many weakfish in the mouth of the Mullica River, but it is comforting to know that the last weakfish has not left the planet.

Riptide Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Brigantine, NJ, 7-11-10

2 bass caught off the Brigantine surf!!!!

    10 Jul 2010, 8:44 AM
New Jersey tackle shop reports , 7-11-10-8.jpg

Yesterday we had 2 different stripers caught off the Brigantine surf. This picture has Jim and Maggie Conell catching a 13 pound striper and we also had a 30 inch striper caught by John Kenderdine on a king fish rig with a blood worm. I'm thinking that these are two of our residential fish that decided that the waters are so warm out front that they were hunting for some food out front. I know they will catch stripers all summer long in the back bays but off the surf really surprised me. The king fish are still plentiful and there are some blues mixed in. The South end jetty has been giving up some trigger fish and there are tons of flounder out there to catch and release.

The weather looks like we are going to get hit with a quick storm in the next hour but it should be clear after that.

Don't forget that next Saturday is the Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs kids fishing tournament and it will be held at the 42nd st lot, the same place we had it last year. Sign-ups will start at 8:00 am and the Brigantine Municipal Alliance will put on another GREAT event. There will be plenty of free food and drinks for all who participate.

    Thanks and good luck

    Capt Andy

Avalon Hodge Podge Fishing Report, Avalon, NJ, 7-11-10

    FISHING REPORT

Lots of catching of Fluke in the back bay however, not a lot of keeping. The average keeper ratio is around 5 to 1 but really, how many fish does each person need? Everyone seems happy to have fresh flounder for dinner and enjoyed their time on the water. The fluke are moving out of the back bay and starting to head to the wrecks and reefs. Still the best baits have been Berkley Gulp or Minnows. Dave (9 yrs old) from Chesher, CT weighed in a fluke that weighed 3.6 pounds and was 22” caught on Gulp.

The off shore Tuna bit is great! The canyons have been HOT, HOT, HOT with blue fin, yellow fin, big eye and recently long fin. Most being caught on the troll with ballyhoo however a few are trolling squid rigs and green machines with some success. The more local spots such as the Cigar and 19 Fathom have been hit and miss for the most part so if you can, I’d run to the canyons either the Spencer or the Lindy.

Fisherman's Headquarters Fishing Report, Ship Bottom, NJ, 7-11-10

    Fisherman's Headquarters

    July 10, 2010

Received: Saturday, July 10, 2010 6:16:45 PM Subject: Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters

Great action and catches of seabass continue to entertain and fill the cooler for our wreck charters, while the backbay is giving up steady action with blues, schoolie stripers, black fish and non stop short fluke.

Regular Joe Franke was joined by son in law Ron and grandsons Joe and Jacob for solid seabass fishing . The guys had double, triple and quadruple hook-ups with seabass throughout the morning and within a few hours they had plenty of seabass in the cooler set for dinner and freezer. With a large school of panicky bunker nearby we pulled the anchor to snag a few bunker hoping to tie into some of the shark fishing we had experienced last year at this time . After no shark run offs on our live bunker we did end the day with Ron and his boys Joe and Jacob tag teaming and landing a couple of schoolie stripers before trips end.

Regular Jay Simmons was fast out of the gate with a 1st cast striper under some bird play just outside the inlet, from there Jay mixed in blues and blackfish and even loosing what appeared to be an East bound freight train before the line parted ended an epic battle. Moving to the backbay we experienced non stop fluke action using Gulp and spearing baits. Keepers were hard to come by but the bay bottom seems to be COVERED with fluke.

I have July 23, 29 open or private or open boat charter for backbay/inlet, wreck or mid-shore high speed trolling on our inshore ridges and lumps or a combination of any of the above.
