New Jersey Fishing reports 11-2
The wind has finally calmed. Anglers are thinking seabass and tog fishing tomorrow. Seabass officially opened up again today and we still have another couple of weeks until tog bag limit jumps back up to six fish. There should be some excellent catches to brag about tomorrow night.
Little Egg Inlet striper anglers had a good day overall. Best pick was during the outgoing tide this morning with a so so blitz at the bottom of the tide. High hook was seven boated bass, definitely the exception and not the rule.

October 30, 2010 - It was good to be out fishing today after not sailing for a while and the Ling and Cod welcomed us back. The fishing was good with most anglers catching 20 to 30 Ling and a fair amount of Cod.
Shorty Lewis from Patterson, NJ caught the pool winning Cod and Andre and his son David had three Cod and a load of Ling.
The ANGLER will be sailing at 7:00 AM Monday, November 1 for SEA BASS.

Yesterday was a great day with at least 8-10 weigh-ins with most being off the beach. Tom K nailed a nice 17 pounder and Phil Moses caught a 30 pounder to take over third place in the Riptide Striper Derby. Don't forget that this is the week that the biggest fish caught will win a 280.00 Break-a-Way HDX rod donated by Phil Fors of Rolling Tackle Box. You must be registered in the Riptide Striper Derby and don't forget that this is the ONLY tournament that will allow you drive the front beaches of Brigantine until the end of the year. They will ticket you if you are caught out front with out a permit so please do the smart thing.
We have had one weigh-in this morning but it was overall a slow day so far.
Thanks and Good luck

Well, good to have these back in the cooler again.Nice crowd today and good fishing.Conditions were a bit sloppy on the anchor, hard tide into the wind made it a bit lumpy.Even some dogfish showed up to make it interesting but we had pretty good fishing.High hooks had over 35 keeper sea bass, giving away any over and low hooks had only a handful. Most went home with a cooler full of nice fish.Great day out,see ya tomorrow.Check out some more pics.

10-31-10 Exact opposite from yesterday, poor conditons with wind against the tied and very sloppy on the anchor. That in turn kept the chops from biting.Only had a few each drop, just was not good.Blackfishing on the other hand was good, they were chewing. We had everyone go home with a tog, biggest about 7 pounds.Along with some large sea bass again that we had to throw back. But not tomorrow,we are going back out and nail some big sea bass,,see ya tomorrow.SEA BASS SEASON IS BACK OPEN TOMORROW!!!!

October 31, 2010: Happy Halloween! Today’s tuna trip was canceled, due to a bad off shore weather report, so Bob put the word out that he would be fishing For Blues and Stripers today. We had a great, but lite crowd today. Joining us were Ellis Feibush, Dan Kaminski, Chris Groeger, Chris Mackin, and of course Team Sperco. The team consisting of, team founder Paul, and ever reliable anchor Daly. (Eddie Mackin decided to hunt rather than fish & missed an amazing day of jigging for stripers and blues!) Working the deck was Mike1 (Agio), with Chris Mackin helping out. Captain Bob took us a few minutes out of the inlet, and we were into the fish. We had multiple hook ups; got a bunch in the boat; and then it slowed down, so we moved. Captain Bob found a large patch of water holding massive schools of fish.... Hundreds of birds were diving into the water, and fish were breaking the surface all around us. It was total mayhem! Chris Groeger was in, Mackin was in, and Cindy got some, while up in the bow, Dan was killing them along with Ellis and the other anglers. Team Sperco held the stern down, Paul going with the jig, and Daly hammering them with a surface plug! The fish moved out, so Bob moved the boat. Again, a massive school of fish, thousands of bird working; Fish jumping out of the water; Multiple Hook Ups! Typical SEA DEVIL fishing! Daly is putting on a plugging show, Sperco is slamming them on jigs, Chris G and Chris M, Dan, Ellis, all the anglers, and Cindy, were killing them! Then the fish moved again. So Captain Bob moved the boat again. Each time we moved, we got into bigger fish; starting off at 4-5 LB, then 7-10, then 8-15. Cindy mentioned that we don't have any bass! That changed things! Dan K landed a nice STRIPER! Sperco got one, as did Ellis! Chris Groeger landed a striper, too short, back it went. Then along came BP. Bob put his fishing costume on (It is Halloween!), and hit the rail! Captain Bob nailed a killer SEA DEVIL blue... Bob nailed another big blue, saying, “Remember this, you won’t see me catching fish often." (Daly said he's seen Bob hook a lot of fish, and hand the rod off to the kids on the boat.) We moved again, same results. Fish all over the place, breaking the water; Fish hitting the deck; Cindy saying, “I’d like to have a bass for dinner." Here comes the captain, Bob "The Striper Slayer” Pennington nailed the big one! By this time, it was time to head in. Everyone had their limit of killer SEA DEVIL blues! We also caught a half dozen stripers. Captain Bob landed the biggest striper so Cindy could make bass-cakes tonight! Pretty decent catch: 10 anglers, 6 bass, over 120 blues. Today rated up in the top ten days of fishing this year! What Are You Waiting For? Call or Check the Web Site, Fishing’s Great! We will sail every day in NOVEMBER for blues & stripers. Check with us on Friday, regarding Nov 5 & 6. If the offshore forecast prevents us from going tuna fishing, we will go for stripers & blues on those 2 days also. Then, Striper & blue fishing right through Thanksgiving weekend! EVERY DAY!
Saturday, October 30: The weather was somewhat snappy; however, BP sailed with a great group of seasoned anglers and headed to the Hudson Canyon. Most of the bite was from dawn and in daylight and fish were caught predominantly with bait. The catch consisted of big long fin tunas and a couple of swordfish. Some highlights include: Fred Rutz was determined and landed the first tuna of the night. He also lost a swordfish, estimated at over 200 pounds, and was one of the three anglers that caught multiple fish. Sal Pignataro and Paul Geelan each caught multiple fish. Peter Torgersen and Paul Geelan each caught a good sized swordfish. The legendary Chris Zotti hooked into three big tuna, and Brian Vogt battled a very big tuna. Jack Tackett was happy to catch a second tuna of the season. Rob Kolb was glad to land his first this year and Chris Koda thrilled to land his first tuna aboard the Sea Devil. Weather permitting; there are 2 more canyon trips this season. Please call Cindy: 732 701-1094 to make your reservation.

SEA HUNTER STRIPER REPORT 11-1
Not like yesterday. Headed out with extreme confidence today. Rounded the point of Sandy Hook and the birds were everywhere. Unfortunately they went down fast. We ended up just stopping on marks on the fish finder in different areas. We caught fish everywhere we went, But not enough. We ended up with nine keeper Stripers. The biggest was 24lbs, some shorts and some big Blues.
Thanks for checking in, Capt. Rob

Nov. 1st: It's just sickening to watch the boat guys crush the bass and bluefish day after day. It seems like the beach fishermen do not even get a shot at one percent of the fish going by; what a shame...........

Oct. 31st: Happy Halloween!!!
The unknown bass guy stopped in this morning to say that the small stripers have been driving him crazy. It seems that he is not alone according to the reports we have been getting from other fisherman. The northern and southern most reaches of Monmouth County are still producing the larger fish. Ken Brown stopped in to weigh an 11 lb. striped bass, he said the fish was taken on an Ava 007.

Striped bass have been driving skippers crazy so far this fall, showing promise of a solid bite one day while virtually disappearing the next.
At Point Pleasant, Capt. John Brackett had a decent shot at stripers not far from Manasquan Inlet on Sunday with his Queen Mary, but only found a short burst of action there with three stripers plus bluefish before ending up off Seaside for a pick of blues. Capt. Jim O'Grady had some good fishing the last few days with blues, stripers and even bonito on his **** Robin from Point Pleasant, but went both north and south with little to show for the effort before making a late run to Island Beach State Park where he bailed out with blues of all sizes feeding on butterfish and weakfish.
