October 29th

Stripers and Big Blue fishing is HOT right now with Big Blues and some really nice Bass taking Jigs. Yesterday we fished with a light crowd and put 11 nice keeper bass in the boat and lots of Big hungry blues. Today it was more Blues then Bass due to the conditions with only a few bass taken. Still lots of Bass that have not started to move yet so fishing should get better and better.

Fall fishing is ON!

Couple nice fish were caught today... seems like it turned on in Beach Haven. Fresh Bunker chunks were the bait of choice. Matt Kerns, yardley pa. weighed a 24 pounder caught here in Brighton Beach.!

Havent heard of too many blues this week from the beach.
Oct 27th...Weighed in Fish!
Written by Valerie Zak

The morning started with warm rain and Joe Handley and his (ALIVE) 34-9 pound bass....Nice job Joe!!! I love how you put it in a live well and released her....You got the credit AND the fish lived to swim another day! Joe caught this bass on a plug...popper....3rd cast..ha!

Then as the rain progessed so did the bite...Thomas Yurkevicz weighed in his 15-4 and Alan Smith ended his dry spell with his catch...29-3! NICE JOB!!!! These 2 fish were caught on Bunker chunk!

These fish were caught around Brant Beach...Township building area and Beach Haven!!!!

SEA HUNTER STRIPER REPORT 10-30
We caught some fish today but not as good as it could have been. Boat traffic today killed us. The fish couldn't stay up long, Boats were just plowing threw the fish and spooking them. I was actually surprised we caught what we did. We ended up with a dozen keeper Stripers, The biggest was just shy of 28 lbs and that was caught by Charlie Keintz from Columbus NJ. We also had about 40 big Blues.
Thanks for checking in, Capt Rob

Oct. 29th: The striped bass are still around and hitting all types of baits!!!
***
Although, if you have had the type of luck we have been having recently you would swear that there are not any stripers in N.J waters. Bass fishing never ceases to amaze me; guess that's one reason we keep coming back for more.

Joe Spinelli seems to have the magic touch this week; he weighed in bass of 18.4 and 19.0 lb's this morning..........

It is a busy tournament time in southern New Jersey as we head toward November.

The Atlantic County/Atlantic City Surf Fishing Derby had three new leaders registered in Week 5, which ended Sunday. Fishing on the Margate beach, Michael Carr of Swedesboro took the lead in both striped bass and bluefish last week.

He got a 22-pound bass and a 14-pound blue, according to Tony Eaton at Capt. Andy's Marina in Margate.

Chris "Skip" Raab of Margate leads the tautog division with a 4.21 catch.

There were no bluefish entered in the six-week Derby until last week. Tom Leehan of Brigantine caught a 13.5 blue in Week 5 and David Chu of Sicklerville got an 11.5 blue this week.

The contest wraps up Sunday.

The northwest wind seems to be producing the striper bite that it usually brings at this time of year. Capt. John Brackett reports Thursday's jigging was pretty good on his Queen Mary from Point Pleasant, with 10 bass caught along with lots of blues, but Capt. Dave Riback had it even better this morning as 21 stripers (all keepers) were hooked plus plenty of blues. Rich Esposito of Beachwood boated a 32 1/4-pound bass
