New Jersey Fishing report 12-4
Friday`s Bottom Report (12/3/10)
Hey Guys, got out today with a handful of fares. It was a good day of fishing all in all. Had some limits on the boat and others had 3-5 keepers. Fished Scotland, didn`t see any ling today though. If I can, I will post pictures later. Tomorrow`s forecast is looking OK and we will be shaping up. See ya on the dock!

Lousy day today. Went everywhere today. No birds no marks on the fish finder except for bait. we caught one short today. The water was very dirty and cloudy after all the rain and wind on Wednesday. I hope things get better tomorrow.

December 3, 2010 - We did not have a very good day today. We started offshore at 17 Fathoms, since we did not like the water color inshore. We had a few fast fish and then waited, with a dismal pick, for better fishing which never developed. There were a few nice Ling and Sea Bass, but not enough to hang around for. We then tried the Mud where the story was the same with some quick fish and then a slow pick. We ended the day on the Apple Pie, where most of the fleet was, and we caught another 8 or 10 keepers. Zenon Boryszewski from Kearny, NJ had the pool. The ocean was getting nice as we headed home and Saturday should show improvement.

Bill Nickerson at Fin-Atics said some bass were caught Friday morning in the Ocean City surf on the south end from 45th Street to Corsons Inlet. Clam seemed to be the best bait, Nickerson said.
Alex Sacchetti reported that Bayside Marina measured 28- and 33-inch bass caught Thursday on the Brigantine beach by Mark Mathes of Brigantine.

Captains have been reporting a fair to good bite on the blackfish in shallow water. The best depths have been from 40 to 70 feet. Beyond 70 feet, the dogfish start to become a nuisance.
Capt. Scott Hilliard of the Prowler V out of Atlantic Highlands has been fishing south of the Scotland Grounds for blackfish daily. He reports the better baits have been green and white legger crabs.
The boat provides green crabs and also carries white leggers for sale.
Top catches this week were made by Mickey Razzano of South River who boated an 8.75-pound blackfish and Bobby Richey of Brooklyn who landed a 15-pound codfish

There was actually better fishing today in the surf. Joe Melillo, at Castaways Tackle in Point Pleasant, got a report of hot bass action at Monmouth Beach, but managed a short bass in Bay Head -- where some of his regulars also caught one or two shorts plus a 14-pounder. Nick Kolodiy of Brick released a short right after he started casting after sun-up in Bay Head, and was releasing another when I arrived. This black cloud turned his bite off, and I had no hits -- though one other surfcaster caught two small bass.
