New Jersey Fishing report 10-12
Pretty quiet yesterday
Tuesday, October, 12, 2010 at 5:33AM
Not much to report from yesterday. Very few anglers stopped in on the way home. About all I heard was the loads of assorted bait is in the surf. Maybe the overnight weather change will light things up again. It has done the trick a couple of time already this fall.
Here is the latest from the weather idiots - Mostly cloudy this morning...then becoming partly sunny. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Someday, Mike will find himself and boy, will he ever be disappointed.

If you are lucky enough to have the day off, get to the beach and enjoy it! We are certain to run out of this kind of weather real soon! We had some pretty Bass weighed in yesterday. Clams certainly are getting the job done. If this early season bass bite is any indicator, we are going to have a fantastic fall season. Not much word on the blues yesterday other than an occaisional small school.
The evil weatherman is going to let us have another pretty day - Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Take advantage of it if you can.
Mike is kinda good looking in a way - away far away that is!

I′m going to be traveling with him next week. Now he′s got me a little nervous. Looks like I′m going to have to spike his geritol again.
Great day with the fat alberts yesterday only found some very small blues down around Barnegat inlet. Didn′t even look for bass .....

LBI Fishing Notes: When sea bass closes in a few days, we will be heading out for stripers, porgies, our one black fish, and what ever else bites the hook. So bring a fine assortment of rigs, jigs and whatever else you may need to catch fish. (In my case dynamite) sea you out there.
LBI Fishing 10/10/10: A chilly start to the day, but it warmed up nicely. First drop all who had brought crabs had their one black fish. Lots of anglers did not have crabs so Captain Frank moved on. We bounced around on different wrecks but could not put together any great number of keepers. Once again Lots of short sea bass coming over the rails with keepers mixed in. Toward the end of the day we drifted to try our hand at some porgies, an did managed to come up with a catch. The numbers are there, we just need to see bigger fish come over the rails. I'm sorry but I did not get the name or the town of todays pool winner. If you e-mail me at fromthegalley@aol.com I will add your name to the picture. We had a nice group from Pa. and Trenton fishing we us today, welcome Sea Dawgs, glad to have you aboard. Tomorrow is our ten hour trip, which is sold out. I will get a report our as soon as I recuperate.

Hey Guys, got out with a good crowd on the boat for the last day of Sea Bass fishing. And it was a good one at that. Started by the Reef, and later moved to the mud dump. Good fishing at both spots. Porgie fishing is awesome, guys going home with 25-30 fish. Tomorrow we will not be sailing, and for Wednesday we will continue bottom fishing. Crabs are supplied for bait. See ya on the dock!
Sunday (10/10/10)

Hey Guys, Today was the best day of porgie fishing ever! It was a beautiful day on the water and great people on the boat! Lots of Sea Bass for everyone too! Many people today went home with limits of porgies, 4-5 keeper Sea Bass, and just about everyone with a blackfish. Tomorrow is the last day for Sea Bass, so make sure you come on down! Starting Tuesday we will stay fishing for Porgies and Blackfish. I`ll try to keep you posted, but if the bottom fishing falls apart we`ll start for Stripers. Best bet is to call and find out for sure. Tomorrow`s forecast is looking great, so come on down for the last day of Sea Bass. See ya on the dock!

We had a nice turnout for the morning trip and satisfied most of them with a great catch of porgies , some sea bass , and the pool winning blackfish. With today being the last day to keep sea bass we will be targeting porgies and a few blackfish the next few weeks. The afternoon trip was not as productive even though we fished the same area as the day before which had been a good trip. We will be changing our fishing times schedule soon so please call ahead before u come down.

SEA HUNTER 10-10-10 STRIPER REPORT
Well I've got yesterdays pics. Unfortunately today was not yesterday. I don't know what happened today, But the Stripers were nowhere to be found along with the Blues . Nothing was eating today. I just hope tomorrow they will be hungry.
Thanks for checking in, Capt Rob I hope to give you better news tomorrow
We went to the mud today and ran over a big pile of Porgies that we were able to land on. We had steady fishing all day on one drop with mostly big Porgies and some nice Sea Bass mixed in. We watched the other boats keep moving and stayed put and caught fish all day long. Our best fishing was at the end of our trip. Mesrob Massoyn from Hackensack, NJ took today's pool with a big Sea Bass.

We are now Bottom Fishing every day and Striper Fishing every night.

New Jersey Fishing Report...By Captain Bob Pennington
Sunday, October 10: Captain Bob sailed to the west side of the Hudson Canyon looking for where the fish may have moved. He found warm water and decided to give it a try. Shortly after the anchor was set, the first fish was on and there was a pretty constant catch until 8 a.m. At times it was chaotic, and there was only one hour or so break in the action. We even hooked into a big tuna after the engines were started up. We had an awesome catch of big yellow fin tunas, all weighing from 50 to 80 pounds or more. All fish were yellow fins and all were caught on bait. Some highlights include: Chris Zotti, Bob Dercole & Fred Rutz each caught their yellow fin limit! Philip Black, Alex Mouracade, Rich Zaledonis, Leo Lyp, and Jimmy Verlotti each landed 2 big tunas. Sal Costa landed his first yellow fin tuna of the season. Father & son Michael Lucarello, Sr. & Jr. each landed their first yellow fins of the season. Several other anglers landed big tuna. The weather was pretty perfect and there were many smiling faces leaving the dock tonight! There are still many openings through the remainder of the season. Book your trip now! 0-11-10 Wow,another beautiful day.Flat calm, now wind and warm.Big crowd again came out to enjoy and fishing was much better than yesterday.Lots of bites, you had to do some recycling but everyone had some keepers to go home with.High hooks had a dozen keeper bass, some had ten, some had just a couple but overall we caught some fish. Some nice porgies rounded out the catch. The weather is looking kinda iffy this week so we are planning to go to the boat yard tomorrow,so if something changes I will let you know here.Either way I will keep you updated here at the website.
10-10-10 Had a large crowd again, beautiful ocean conditions and fishing was not good. Some had six or so keeper sea bass but not enough for the crowd. If you were on the port side of the boat for some reason today it was real tough.Starboard side was much better, but even then it was slow overall.Tomorrow is looking very good again.
10-9-10 Another beautiful day, flat calm, only a light chop early and warm nice temps. We had another Jumbo crowd come out to take advantage of this weather and we enjoyed good fishing all day.The ratio was down today compared to the past few. Some of the drops yielded non-stop sea bass pulling but you had to weed through shorts to get to the keepers. The high hooks today had around ten keeper sea bass and down from there. Some nice porgies filled in the gaps. But at the end for a big crowd we had a fair catch. We also had a couple of keeper codfish to spice up the catch along with a few Togs that ended up taking home a giant pool.Tomorrow is looking great again.
