New Jersey Charter and Party boat reports 7-12
100ft. Paramount Fishing Report
Updated 7/11/10

Very Good Sea Bass Fishing • Ling Madness!
Fishing this past week was very good overall. Wednesday’s Deep Water Ling trip produced fantastic results for the third trip in a row with anglers averaging 20 to 30 Ling per person and high hooks in the forties and fifties! Sea Bass fishing was good on Thursday, with high hooks in the teens and average catches of keeper Sea Bass in the 8 to 12 range. Friday and Saturday the fishing was good with a lot of action but the keeper percentage dropped a bit for the Sea Bass. Some Ling were caught to fill in the gaps on Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday the Sea Bass fishing was very good with catches in the 8 to 12 range on average and high hooks were in the twenties with some limit catches as well.
On Wednesday’s Ling trip Seth Felson from Cherry Hill had 30 Ling, Bill Coniglio from New Brunswick had 25 Ling, Waldek Adamarek from Garfield had 38 Ling, Dennis Stock from Fairfield, NJ had 28 Ling, Noel Westerlind from Leonardo had 25 Ling, John Grady from Brielle had 24 Ling, Farquan from Elizabeth had 45 Ling, Jack Decker from North Haledon had 30 Ling and Dave Mason from Hopatcong, NJ had 52 Ling!
Some Sea Bass catches of note from the past few days were John Hanson from Millville, NJ with 13 keeper Sea Bass, George Miller from Levittown, PA had 12 Sea Bass and 2 Ling, Peter Reynolds from Trenton, NJ had 11 Sea Bass and 1 Ling, Bill Miller from Flemington, NJ had 10 Sea Bass, Alan Corrado from Staten Island had 14 Sea Bass.
On Sunday’s trip Tom Olsen from Wall, NJ and Paul Keegan from Spring Lake Heights combined for the high hook of the day with 48 keeper Sea Bass between the two of them, Junichiro Takigayama from New Milford, NJ had 22 Sea Bass and 3 Ling, Kim Irving from Cranbury, NJ had 13 keepers. The pool winner on today’s trip was a beautiful 5+ pounder!

Barnegat Bay Fishing Charters Fishing Report, NJ, 7-12-10
July 11, 2010
Fluke fishing in the bay continues to be outstanding in terms of the number of fish being caught, although the 18" minimum size has meant we needed to pick through a good number of fish in order to have a few in the box by the end of the morning. With so many throwbacks, I decided to raise the fun level of catching these fish by switching over to extremely light fresh water gear that makes even a small fluke feel like a monster. Sure, we miss a few fish this way but there's something about hearing a screaming drag while fluke fishing that's downright intoxicating.
We had two trips cancel this past week due to the brutally hot weather, but still managed to get three trips in. On Monday, Louis Pochettino came out from Gulph Mills, PA with son Dave and grandson Alex and the guys hauled 45-50 fluke over the side topped by Lou's 22 incher. On Friday, Jim and Gene Karaman were out from Lansdale, PA with Jim's daughter Christine, and Team Karaman landed another 40+ fluke despite dealing with a wind against tide situation most of the morning. Then yesterday, George Selph and Bob Keller were back looking to try some ocean side fluke fishing, but when lack of any drift had nothing but skates coming over the side (except for a nice fat out-of-season 8.5# tog that fell for the captain's jig), we finished up the morning back in the inlet where the guys banged almost 40 fish in a little more than an hour. As hot as the weather was last week, bay fluking was even hotter! Hopefully we'll get a few more weeks of this in. It's way too much fun.

7-11 Update
Friday night: Very good bluefishing for 6 to 14LB blues 23 miles SE of Brielle.
Saturday: Except for a few showers it was a nice day, very nice people on board but no blues. We tried 20 miles, 23 miles 30 miles, and finished 15 miles, but they would not bite. We saw some everywhere we went but could not get them to bite today. We also saw four different whales today. They have been in the same general area for the last two weeks.
Saturday night:
Capt Dale went to the same spot 23 miles from Brielle we fished during the day. His words to describe the fishing, "Savage". They made one stop for the night and bailed the bluefish. Limit catches on 6 to 14LB blues for anyone who wanted to catch that many.
The Pool winner was:
Johnny Fierro from Hasbrouck Hts, NJ with a 14LB blue. John also caught is limit.
Sunday: We headed back out to the same area they fished at night. The first drift we only had a couple of bites. We made a short move and within minutes we had several fish on at once. Fishing was good for awhile and then we picked away for two hours. High hook caught 10 blues today. Most of the fish were caught on bait and a few on jigs.
The pool winner was:
Lourdes Irizarry from Phila PA with a 13.5LB bluefish.
There are still plenty of blues around. The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail everyday & every night at 7:30AM & 7:30PM.
