Igor who?
Saturday, September, 18, 2010 at 3:50AM
The talking heads on the media are already into doom & gloom about the overly sensationalized effects of Igor. When you look at the details, we will be getting long period ground swells Sunday night into Monday. We have 4-6 foot surf with a moderate risk of undertow which is normal for this area. Besides, we are talking fishing, not swimming and bumpy water is good bass water.
The blues that have hit the scale lately are solidly into the 15 lb class but there are some little ones around too! We are also getting some nice Bass in the same weight class on a regular basis which has me thinking the fall run has begun a bit early? There is tons of bait around. The Mullet run is still a little spotty but all the other stuff more than makes up for it. Be sure to have long skinny metals with you because the sandeels are everywhere.
The fear mongering weather idiots have found a possible raincloud - Mostly cloudy this morning...then becoming partly sunny. A chance of sprinkles this morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming east this afternoon. Everybody panic - you may need a sweep of your windshield wipers, or not.
Mike had a thought yesterday! It was such a novety, he left me alone for a while.

Jingles Bait and Tackle fishing report, Beach Haven 9-18-10
Sat Sept 18th
It is a cool star lit morning with an air temp of 57 here at the beach and a NNW wind about 15. The wind is supose to go to the NE and then the E later today and have some good size swells from Igor.
Marine forecast.
NE winds 10 to 15 kt...becoming E 5 to 10 kt late this morning and afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 ft...in long period swells. A chance of sprinkles early this morning.
Tonight
Se winds 5 to 10 kt...becoming S after midnight. Seas 4 to 7 ft...in long period swells.
Yesterday there was no problem holding and kingfish and small bluefish were caught.
We are lucky that we have some good folk that provide us with bait and we have fresh mullet and fresh bunker in stock along with bloodworms and eels.
Derby sign-ups are in store and if you want a hat sign up early so you get yours. Once again hats are limited. Derby will be 8 weeks again this year from Oct 9 to Dec 5th.
I understand that some of the special prizes are back in it this year and sounds like some real nice ones.

Scotts Bait and Tackle, Mystic Island,Fishing report 9-18-10
Friday, September 17, 2010 /\/\/\ 5:54pm
North East winds after midnight on top of a four to six foot sea means don't figure on getting out on the ocean on Saturday morning.
Little fish activity is still on with a variety of fish coming up at Graveling Point. Still plenty of spots reported by anglers gathering up Fall bass baits.
Sunday and Monday the sea conditions will worsen as Hurricane Igor moves on by. Another weekend goes by with the seabass, taugog, croakers, blues and possibly albacore out of reach.
