New jersey Charter boat and bait and tackle reports, 9-12

    September 11, 2010

Yes, currently we have bloodworms in stock. Kingfish and Croakers on the front beach surf. Use bloodworms or Fish-Bites. Dress the Fish-Bites with Bio-Edge Bloodworm Potion or Stick Wand. Smaller Snapper Bluefish also showing up on the beach which can be caught on metals or bait. No solid reports on Stripers but getting lots of third-hand rumors. Spike weakfish right outside Barnegat Inlet.

    Saturday`s Report (9/11/10)

Hey Guys, got out with a good size crowd on the boat today and it was a beautiful day to be out there, but unfortunately the fishing was not so good. The fish we did catch though were of good size, didn`t even have to measure them. Big Sea Bass and Big Porgies! Todays pool winner was Anthony Smith From Woodbridge, NJ. with a 9lb. Blackfish. See ya on the dock!

Reel Class Sportfishing Charters, Pleasant Beach, NJ, 9-12-10

    Reel Class/Point Pleasant Tog-Seabass-Porgies Saturday 9/11

    Saturday, 11 September 2010 14:21
Had Bill P and Ryan H aboard with Michael and I for our special half-day trip. Headed north again and made a drop a little south of where we caught the tog yesterday - had no life whatsoever and zero bites, so we headed up to where we had the action yesterday.

Once we got there and got the boat positioned, it took a few minutes but the bites started coming at a steady pace again. It seemed some of blackfish were smaller today, but we still had a healthy mix of quality fish coming in the boat. Again, a lot of 16-19" fish, with a couple of 4-6#ers coming in topped by Bill's best fish of the day which was around 6#/21". I was lucky enough to literally catch a piece of real estate! (see the pics below)

The 4 of us blew threw 7 dozen green crabs, boating ~50 tog, with at least half being over 14", if not more than that. As we were running out, the bite again got real good and we had a few nice fish right at the end. We kept our 4 which were all around 18".

Once we ran out of crabs, we put hi-lo's on and fished for porgies and seabass for about 40 minutes, putting 10 nice porgies in the box (only a few jumbos today) and 5 chunky seabass, while catching some short seabass and porgies as well. Ryan also boated another out of season fluke.

Another good trip with lots of bites and lots of action. Bill was on fire, easily boating 20 tog himself - the guy couldn't keep his bait on the bottom without getting slammed!

Reel Class Sportfishing Charters, Pleasant Beach, NJ, 9-13-10

Friday and Saturday we opted to run up the beach w/ the wind and fish for porgies-seabass and tog. Friday we had a pretty good day with a bunch of jumbo porgies, and a very good bite with keeper blackfish as well as some seabass. Saturday we wound up doing a 1/2 day trip and ran back to where we caught fish on Friday and again did real well w/ the tog, and then picked at the porgies and bass for a little while before heading home. Here's the report for both days: http://reelclassfishing.com/latest-news-and-reports

Next Saturday's bluefish-speedster trip is filled, but I've opened up next Sunday as well for a bluefish-speedster trip. The full open boat schedule can be found here: http://reelclassfishing.com/rates/open-boat-info

November is filling up fast but of course there are a couple of dates still available for tog or stripers. October still looks partially open while the only available date in september is the open boat trip on 9/19.

If you're not out today, enjoy the football and I hope to see some of you guys soon!!

    Fisherman Fred's Fishing Report, Hamilton,NJ, 9-13-10

    Saltwater / Jetty Report: 9/13/2010
Once again there were bluefish from LBI to Point Pleasant Beach from the surf. Not many fishing because of the morning rain. Some short stripers from LBI and IBSP surf as well. Some false albacore being caught from IBSP, Seaside, Ortley Beach and Mantoloking. To catch false albacore use a small Deadly Dick, AVA 007 or a T-Hex and reel it in as fast as you can. Few kingfish off the LBI surf. Boater are fishing for sea bass, false albacore, and bluefish and doing pretty good. There really isn't any hot spots to report at this time. Another good thing to report is that the water is full of bait and the mullet run is going to start soon. That should kick start things and make fishing even better. If any schools of fish find all this bait you would most like fish for a hour and then your arms would be so tired you would want to leave. Looking like it is going to be a great fall season but you can never tell till it happens. Don't wait for a phone call or read it in a report just get out then and fish.

    9/12/2010
Well it was almost all bluefish from LBI all the way up to Point Pleasant Beach from the surf. Here is what killed the almost, there have been a bunch of short stripers being caught with a keeper here and there. Most of the stripers are being caught from IBSP on clams or AVA's. Mullet run has not started yet but should soon. Even though that hasn't there is all kinds of bait in the water. I would say now is the time to get out and start fishing. Also heard that the kingfish bite off the LBI surf is hit or miss. One day it is great the next not so good. If you want to try take some bloodworms or Gulp bloodworms, or FishBites. They all work good for kingfish. As for boaters a lot are fishing sea bass and finding good luck in about 70 feet of water. Some boaters are fishing blues as well.

    Bay Report: 9/13/2010
Not too many fishing the bays because of the morning rain. For those who did they caught some blowfish and snappers.

    9/12/2010
Had reports of some blowfish being caught from Barnegat Bay and Great Bay. Didn't hear anything out of Tuckerton Bay yesterday. Most spots are producing blowfish. Only thing is take lots of clam chum with you and chum like crazy. Barnegat Bay also is producing some good catches of spots. People are catching them and putting them in their bait pens to use for the fall striper run.

    Fresh Water Report: 9/13/2010
Not many fishing because of the rain. No reports.

    9/12/2010
Lots fishing but not many reports. The reports did come in from all over. Let see there were eports of bass, pickeral, sunnies, and catfish being caught. As I siad the reports were scattered all over the place.

Grumpy's Bait and Tackle Fishing report, Seaside Park , 9-13-10

    Albacore & Blues
    Monday, September, 13, 2010 at 4:48AM
It is definitly shiny metal time! Fast moving schools of Albacore frustrated most guys that they went racing past yesterday. Blues were scattered about and for the most part seemed to be low in the water column (making it tough for the bird watchers) with AVAs, T-Hexes and Deadly Dicks among the top choices.
The rainy forecast for yesterday was once again overly exaggerated and except for a brief shower, it was a pretty good day. Here is what the idiots have for today - Mostly cloudy this morning...then clearing. Patchy fog this morning. Highs in the upper 70s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming west this afternoon.
The other day Mike said that he is a self-made man. At least he is taking the blame!

Jingles Bait and Tackle fishing report, Beach Haven 9-13-10

****Sea Bass season is open till October 11th

    Mon Sept 13th

Northwest wind this am about 10 and an air temp of 61. The ocean temp off of Atlantic City is 72.

People in the store telling me that they can feel fish hitting their hooks but they can not catch them . The fish that you are feeling is a fish called a spot.

Spots are an excellent bait fish and usually fished alive. If you want to catch them you have to down size your hooks. A lot of people use sabiki rigs to catch them. Spots if large enough will be eaten other-wise they are an excellent bait for stripers. weakfish, tuna and dolphin. A lot of people target these fish this time of year to save for later use. They will keep them in live wells of in pens overboard till it is time to use them. If you go to buy these baits they will cost about 3 dollars each. they are a fun fish for kids to catch because usually they are very abundant once you get into them.

    Sun Sept 12th

What started out as a cloudy morning has turned into a rainy day.

No wind air temp 65 and ocean is 72.

Good news this morning is that several boats got into tuna and long fin offshore yesterday after going thru a few week of only dophin.

If you are a bay fisher-man some good news for you too that some nice size blowfish have finally moved to our end of the bay.

Scotts Bait and Tackle, Mystic Island,Fishing report 9-01-10

    Sunday, September 12, 2010 /\/\/\ 2:33pm
Today was not a very good day to gather suceessful angling information. A front moved across the state and promised rain and it did actually rain here. Not knowing that it would only be a light drizzle and no wind, wise anglers stayed at the dock.
