New Jersey Bait and tackle reports 7-8
Saltwater Report:
7/8/2010
Fluke from the surf and jetties. That's about it right now. Not many reports for lack of people fishing.
Bay / Jetty Report:
7/8/2010
Once again fluke and snappers being caught. Reports have been slow but the usual spots in Barnegat Bay, Great Bay, and Tuckerton Bay are producing.
Fresh Water Report:
7/8/2010
Some fishing in this heat but not many reports coming back. Only thing I heard was a bass being caught. We need some rain to improve the fishing.

Grumpy's Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Seaside Park, 7-09-10
This is a little better!

Not quite so oppressively hot today. This is what the weather idiots have for you - Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 80s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. That sounds a whole lot better, doesnt it?
Just another quiet day yesterday. It was just too hot to do anything and I suspect if the fishermen went to the beach, they spent most of the time just cooling off!
I started to have a conversation with Mike last night, I wonder if he is still talking?

Jingles Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Beach Haven 7-09-10
Jingles Bait and Tackle
Thurs July 8th
Mixed bag on the beach this morning. Joe had a 30 in bass on clams on a half tide out and Nick had 17 fluke all short on gulp on the outgoing. Cownose rays and skates making up alot of catches.
Tuna fishing offshore yesterday once again was great. More leaving tonight while the weather window is there. Forecast does not look to good for the Friday night Saturday trip but you near know with the forecast from the weatherman.
Ocean is 74 this am and we won't even talk about how hot and humid it is out already today. Try and stay cool today.
Yesterday morning the fluke fisherman had a good catch in the bay from the middle grounds thru Holgate. More keepers getting caught but you have to put up with the flies.
The offshore guys did well again yesterday with tuna. Yellow fin in the lindy and bluefin inshore.
If you were on the beach early for the beginning of the out going tide there were some fluke other than that the beach was quite once again. With the water temps as high as they are the kingfish should be back. Brigatine the next island down is catching as many as 30 per man.

Scotts Bait and Tackle, Mystic Island,Fishing Report 7-09-10
Scott's Daily Fishing Report
Thursday, July 8, 2010 /\/\/\ 4:52pm
A little bit of better news from anglers fishing the Tuckerton Bay side. They mentioned drifting the runnels inside of the Southern tip of Long Beach Island and specifically the 114 to 116 stretch of the Intercoastal Waterway for some nicer fluke. Make sure to rig up a little heavier to get to the bottom. As the bars drop off into the deeper water the lighter bucktails and weights float midway. Get crazy with one pole and a top and bottom rig with six to eight ounces of weight. Keep a minimum amount of line out to attempt to keep the rig fishing straight up and down. It really works.
No big changes from ocean fishing anglers. Just a scattering of fluke trying all the hot spots. Everyone is hopeful and keeps checking, but best activity, even for keepers remains in the bays.

Riptide Bait and Tackle Fishing Report, Brigantine, NJ, 7-09-10
Plenty to fish for in Brigantine
8 Jul 2010, 2:23 PM

JULY 17th is the big day for the Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs Fishing Tournament. Kids of all ages are welcome and we will be handing out 100 free rod and reel combos to the first 100 kids to register at the event. Registration begins at 8:00 am and all kids will get a free t-shirt. The Brigantine Municipal Alliance puts on this GREAT event for the kids and this year will be no different. There will be food and prizes and plenty of fishing going on so come on down to see the smiles on the kids as they reel in the fish. Some big blues have started to show up in the surf that has been dominated by mainly king fish for the past month. Christian Laskoski nailed a 14 pound blue from the surf on a chunk of mackerel. On Wednesday we did have several reports of smaller blues hitting the surf as one of our customers had his finger bandaged up thanks to the sharp teeth of a blue. The flounder fishing has still been great with action all over but not many keepers to bring home for dinner. Joe Horan and Veronica D'Souza had three nice keepers up to 4lbs. The big catch of the week goes to Dave Holmes who was able to nail a 9lb 4oz Flatty McDaddy using a long mackerel strip. The trash fish tournament has been going well as we have had a lot of people signing up. If you go to www.garbagefish.com you can see the leaders in each division.
$1,000.00 Fluke & Blue Fish Tournament ** NO ENTRY FEE***
BigfishNJ.com will be hosting 2 Free Tournaments in August just for registering with our site.
That's right "Free" as in "No Entry Fee". You must register before August 8, 2010 - no exceptions, fish between August 9th through August 16th. There will be a Fluke and Bluefish division and the angler weighing in the heaviest fish takes home $1,000 in each category. You may fish for both and try to take home both pots. Go online and click the "Join its Free" button. You can weigh your catch in at any of our Official Weigh in stations located on the site. Live daily tournaments will begin directly after the close of these free tournaments.
