New Fly Rod help

question about tackle...i have a rouge 9 1/2' 10-11 blank to build(or sell if not what i need)would that be good choice for stripers.and maybe a little offshore?i am trying to get a idea of what works before i just start building.

Most use 8 and 9 wt or 9-10 wt rods for stripers and blues 10-11 is a little heavier but will work. Also most use 9 foot rods. 9 wts will even work for Mahi and Albies and shoolie size bluefin to the mid 20 lb range. If you like the rod and don't mind making it, do it. I like factory rods. If they break with the warranties you get it fixed by the next weekend, which is great if you use it a lot.

have never heard of rouge rods. good think about most rods is the lifetime warranties.

I just looked at the loop reels(on the web).look nice what model would work? the HD looked good..if you lokat at the rouge fly rods..i think the blank i have is either the 29010 or29012
