I said I would post more pics when I got THE NEW FISH TALE home. Yesterday was the big day. Left Lanoka Harbor NJ with a new Contender 31 Open and headed south down the intracoastal.
Took my time breaking in the engines heading to Barnagat Inlet. Got out the inlet into the ocean. It was a bit snotty. Still taking my time breaking in the YAMIES. I looked inshore and it was looking like a good storm was about to hit. And then I saw lightning.
"Well", I said to myself, "Self, I got about 2hrs on the YAMIES, they're broke in just fine". So I kicked her in the pants just a little and was making 4200 rpm's, doing 30 kts in some pretty nice chop and she didn't even come close to breaking a sweat. FISH TALE gobbled up the ocean like it was nothing. You could just feel she wanted more. MAN, that ride was SMMMOOOOOTH!
Needless to say I didn't worry about the lightning after that. Before I knew it, I was turning in to Great Egg Inlet and was just about home.
I have her rigged to fish with all the buzzers and bells. And she runs like a champ. We start fishing on her Saturday and I can't wait.
