Nada on the Mackerel

I went out yesterday on the Miss Belmar Princess to fish for mackerel. There were 12 fishermen aboard. The total catch for the day were two mackerel, and one ling. Yes, I said two mackerel and one ling all day. The ling was caught because we were doing nothing on the mackerel so the Capt. anchored up and broke out the salted clam to fish the bottom. After about an hour we had one ling. Also, several doggies were brought up. It looks like this is the end of mackerel in this area.

I might try again tomorrow if the fishing gods shine today and they catch some fish, but I doubt it.
