Today I tried fishing the area around Plantation light for the first time. I could not believe my depth finder and wondered for a while if it was broken. I didn't know that there was 130' of water anywhere in the bay.
Now I know that there weren't any fish in that deep hole.
I trolled up a big skunk. Somebody is going to have to teach me how to fish over there.
It's all about finding the bait and satying with it till the fish turn on. Normlly if the bite is good there will be alot of boats working the area. Normlly they either troll deep or float eels on big bobbers. Most of the fish I've cught there where from 35 to 55 feet.
Secret to fishing down there is MUST FIND BAIT. If you don't find the bait most likely no fish. Look for friget birds and large bait balls. The bait balls will fill up your depth finder screen. Good luck.
