May 7, 2009 - With the water temps rising bass are becoming more active and big racer ( all head - lean body ) bluefish are invading the ocean and back bays. We have FRESH BUNKER just delivered as well as all other needed baits. In the back bays even if you see no signs of birds or life, make a few casts with a popper of some sort. You may QUICKLY be surprised!!!! If that does not produce, move around and try the same in another spot. Many times that 500-1000 yard move can make a world of difference...
Beach at Seaside park - catching shorts on clams. Ocean ater still 45-46 degrees

Some bluefish and striper in Barnegat Bay near power plant.
Flounder near the 42 buoy. and at Manaloking Bridge chumming.
Perch are good in Tom's River between 6:30 and 8 at night on bloodworms.
Crabbing has gotten hot in the bay. Murphy's crab pot got 8 yesterday and fishermen have been bothered by them.
