We had a great group of young adults out tonight, members of the Lacey High School Fishing Club. It was a beautiful night, we left the dock some of us in tee shirts. The wind died, the seas were flat, what more could we ask for........I'll tell you what FISH......just FISH.
We sat beautifully on a wreck, rigs being lost, snags all over the place, but FISH, where were they. Oh sure there were shorts here and there, even a big big doggy, but not a keeper in sight. The team knew what they were doing, they knew not to stay in one spot on the boat, these anglers moved from stem to stern, port to starboard, but could not put a keeper on the deck. We'll get them next time. Thank you again Lacey High School Fishing Club.

Boy I wish I could write that things turned around today, ok they did but just a little. Key word,
LITTLE. We made 5 stops today picking up a few shorts and few keepers. After the first stop Miss Diane came out of the cabin, announced that she had given everyone a head start, dropped her line in, and in minutes picked up a 9 pound tog........Threw the rest of the day there was just a short here, a keeper there, some cod mixed in. All in all not a good day of catching, but again a nice day on the water. I'm thinking the tog know it's the last week of their open season so they are hiding from us. Next weekend when the season is closed they will be popping their heads out of the water and laughing at us, some of the bigger ones will be selling back rigs at the black fish flea market held on May 1, at the first wreck out of the inlet. Let's see what tomorrow brings, I hope not the rain there talking about, although the fish are already wet.

Well the weatherman did it to us again, heavy rain, northeast blow, HA what a job, no matter how wrong, you just say the wind changed and your covered, you keep your job and live to make more mistakes. Ok there was some rain and a little rain, but the fish would not have known it. It sure did keep the anglers away, to bad, the last weekend day and no trip. Next weekend and till the seabass season opens we will fish for stripers, blue and drumfish. The Galley special will be chicken your way, Hot, barbeque or Italian your choice, so bring your rigs, jigs and appetites.
