In classic Jersey form it was hot at the fuel dock but two miles up river and through the bay it was cold and zero zero fog... Even our 23 is over riggged and between gps and radar I was able to rock and roll just fine. For our guests this was a whole new world. They had never even been on a boat much less doing 40 in dense fog... ![]() With a mixed assortment of things to try we started a drift... Slow but steady we had a pick of most everything that swims. Blackfish, porgies, sea robins, fluke, blues, and sea bass made up our bite list... Never did find the weakies or stripers we had hoped for but smiles all around signalled these guys were tickled... Ended all too soon as the boys had to get to work... ![]() Now I gotta go find a sports bar to watch the Dolphins and see if I can sneak a peek at my missus who's dancing in the half time show...

were you guys out saturday? we came in and saw the offshore rig gone. we had the same luck with the bass and weakies. we drifting the river, and caught a short fluke. we had to zig zag through all the poppers being thrown from the shoreline
moved out to the rips and harry got a nice sized stargazer. it was almost promising on the hook set. other than that, nice night with cheapshot and chunkmaster john, having a few beers and laughs

Big boat has been tacked to the pilings for so long that I'll probably have to surgically remove it. Sure your not thinking about "Sinner" which docks over in your marina? We're in front of the grey condos about a quarter mile up toward the bridge. ... I saw you moved your slip over closer to the "noise"
.We used our 23 yesterday... She has been the unloved stepchild since we got the big boat... The boss handed me orders to get the big boat off the dock next weekend rain or shine and if nothing else, at least give her a hard run in the bay. I'm all for that. When she sits, stuff goes wrong. So I want to shake any hidden boo boos out before heading 1200 miles down stream... Down in Florida the 31 is the forgotten one much of the time. Except when the wife is around. She reminds me that the boss wants it run once a week and she wants to be there with me to make sure it does...

I'm two miles up river near the country club and I can hear em on weekends like they're right outside the window. Hell, my wife called while I was over there at the 23 yesterday. I never even heard the phone ring and that group was a "mellow" one...
