    Match The Hatch!

    I dropped my jet ski at Crab Creek Boat Ramp in Lynhaven Inlet at 1030 hrs today. I headed out of the inlet to some sporty conditions, 4-5 foot seas with some 7-8 foot swells. I went straight to the 1st Island of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and fished around the spine of the tunnel with live spot. I managed 7 Striped Bass, two of them were slot fish around 31 inches and the rest were below 28 inches. I kept my two for dinner tonight as I have some relatives in town and I wanted them to have some fresh fish. The Stripers had some partially digested spot in them so obviously I was "Matching The Hatch". I was back at the dock by 1430 hrs and home and the ski and fish cleaned by dark. Dinner was Great! Here are some pictures from today;

    Tough to beat live spot for them........this was my first year catching my own spot for bait, and honestly I am pleased with the results.....I still have 2 dozen in the pen, the pen I built is working well....now if mother nature would turn off the darn fan I could use them.....a few more weeks and we will be chasing bird play and getting jiggy with it....you should have checked out atlas reels for your new outfit......keep an eye on them before they take off.......quality reels
