Maryland Natural Resources police say they've found two more illegal nets in the Chesapeake Bay.

Maryland Natural Resources police say they've found two more illegal nets in the Chesapeake Bay.

This comes a week after police seized nearly 10 tons of illegally caught rockfish after a investigating a poaching operation.

State officials responded to the illegal fishing by shutting down the commerical gill net season three weeks early.

Even though police found more nets, it appears they're coming close to finding those responsible for poaching the fish.

They've served search warrants at a Tilghman Island home on Friday, and say they removed boxes and laptop computer.

NRP Spokesman Sgt. Art Windemuth says the warrant and seizure was related to the ongoing investigation.

Being that I lived in VA on the north western part of the chesapeake bay just below the Potomac. We have ran the boat from smith point and down to VA beach and there is some things on both sides of the banks that made me scratch my head over the years.

Makes me wonder about some of the things I have seen. Sadly the only thriving industry down in that area is the fisheries. Not much other work outside of fishing and farming and the fish plants .

I think this is just a start of what is going to hit the news...
