    Lynnhaven Specks

hit it this morning with low expectations as the tide was totally bass akward, the water should be nasty as hell after the storm and all the weekend warriors like myself will be screwing things up inside. Oh well, gotta wet a line anyway- went to my normal first stop, hmmmm noone else there?? not a bump, it was like i had a magnet attached to the MO though- from no boats to 8 boats in 10 minutes. I had to get outta there. Get to another spot way away from everyone else and in a place not too many know about. Manage 3 between 19 and 22" and a couple more spikes. On dead low water- go figure. The TT pictured is what all my fish came on today. I ended up losing it and 2 others like it as my flouro/power pro knot kept busting the mono- i guess I need more practice- (and more of that color bait. nice enjoyable afternoon with the exception of my hosed up back!! later- craig

the arsenal- (now minus the flouro heads)

Nice job Craig. The Captain outfished me today again. We had a really good bite on the Low Tide change. They stopped when the tide started coming in good.

Nice Pics! Interesting that a trout arsenal down here consist of live shrimp under a cork. Spoons and Jigs are a sure hit under the lights in the evening.

thanx all- Hb got a 4 day weekend so hopefully sat , sun , monday, tuesday, lol. Geoff- great pix of the boy at the ditch ! low tide was different as i normally dont catch squat on low water- although it never really got that low because of the north winds/noella keeping it backed up in the inlet. Doug- i see you got out but did not have the best luck- we all have those days believe me!!!You will do better next trip for sure.

cool hand- some of the locals use the shrimp/bobble-popper method here too, it works well but for one i am too lazy to try and catch shrimp(not that easy either) and i really love throwing mirror-lures.

Forgive my ignorance Craig, but is that whole box TT's? I've been doing well with the 52M's on the troll, but I haven't had the chance to cast much so far.

hey Darren- no most in there are 52M's. i use the TT's when the water is a little deeper than 4 or 5 ft. I think with the tt running deeper the fish have a better chance of noticing the bait if it is not right on the surface. If you notice really only 4 basic colors i like- there are a couple of oddballs in there but they rarely make it out of the box. red/whites/red and white tts, green backs and TTs, pinks of course, and yellows. On the green TT the ones with yellow eyes I have better luck with than the red eyes for whatever reason. They seem to be hard to find although i havnt tried looking online- ? I made the mistake sunday of stopping to call a friend over to the bite and ended up jinxing myself, lol. (didnt catch another one after that.) These fish were rolling on the surface which was really unusual to see, at least in Lynnhaven.

So the TT's run deeper than the 52's? Red head with chartreuse has been my go to so far, but the green backs and black backs have produced at times too.

NO, TT stands for spots, series III stands for foil, same specs as 52.
