Luhrs provides economy and the chance to buy much "more boat" for the price.

There is a reason that you can buy more Luhrs for the same money, but you will have more things breaking/repairs. You should expect a stronger fit and finish, greater durability from the Henriques.

At the end of the day, you need to figure out what is most important to you. The look/space/size of the Luhrs make great sense for a lot of people. Others want something that's built for heavy fishing and weather with less maintenance.

As I see a few have pointed out, there are other nice boats in the race as well.

Good luck!

Luhrs

I grew up fishing on 36 Luhrs and it was a great boat for the Del. Bay and a couple trips to the Canyons on Flat calm days. Everything that these guys say about the gelcoat is true but if you are smart and pick good weather days you shouldn't have to many things break. If you are looking for a great Family boat with a larger cabin go for the Luhrs. I also know that when we sold the boat there was a really good market for that size boat in that price range and it sold very quickly for a great price. You need to figure out what type of fishing you want to do. If its the offshore thing the Luhrs isn't for you.

PS, caught my fist White Marlin and brother caught his first Blue Marlin on that boat. Great times on her.

Absolutely. Nothing against Luhrs, it's just different positioning in the marketplace.

To take it from the other angle, you don't need to buy a Hummer for family trips on weekends.

It all depends what you're going to use it for and what you want.

I owned a 2000 34 Pursuit and absolutley loved it..... I think the pursuit has out fished and out handled many of the Carolina classics I have been on....As for fit and fininsh you can not beat the Pursuit.... If you can find 1 in your range take a hard look at it !!!!!!!
