Cobia Fishing Equals Supper

Captain Dan and crew recently brought in this really nice cobia, which we found free swimming off Virginia Beach. They are picky eaters and will not usually take a tasty bluefish. They prefer live menhaden or other frisky baits, and that it what we fed this one. It was a great fight, and the whole party got excited to see this great fish finally in the box. And we all got a nice dinner out of the deal, too.

Long Time Com'n clients recently had all the hot amber jack action they could handle. In fact, the first one bit three minutes after the first bait was in the water, and we had only one short lull all day. As you can see from this beauty, they are built for speed and are in the tuna family. Just wished they tasted as good as their cousins. Of our 38 A-Js, the four adult anglers has 6 release citation fish each and the young fisherman had 2 each. It was just the perfect day at the tower. A long ride to be sure, but well worth it. And we caught all the bait we needed just off the beach, since the bluefish are still running in droves. Better get in on the action!
