Went out amd fished the last day of flounder season in NJ.We fished in Great Egg inlet. There were a lot of boats out. The pontoon charters were fishing on the far side near the road. The inlet itself was pretty snotty. We ended up ith 2 bluefish which I ate for dinner last night. We ha plenty pf throe back flounder and seabass.
I saw a lot of crazy stuff. A barge came through the OC-Longport bridge headed out the inlet. An aft cabin boat cut right across in front of him. The same aft cabin keptrunning back and forth past the no wake buoys pn plane. Everyone was yelling at him on the radio.
The a guy in a small run about headed out the inlet. The waves were around 4 ft with an occasional 6. Instead of straight out the inlet he headed through the breakers on the bars on the AC side. I don't know how he made it as the tide was getting close to dead low.(probably didn't draw much water and got lucky) he the came back through the breakers on plane, tore through the inlet and the bridge at full speed. I guess he wanted to get home and clean the turds out of his pants.
Two small cigarette type boats started out and got hit by waves and turned back. Kerbeck's Island runner went by us headed toward AC. He went thru the rockpile but turned and came back shortly thereafter. I saw one other small express cruiser put itself on the beach on the OC side.
Not a good fishing day but definitely not boring.
