Capt. Art Conway of Conway's River Rat Guide Service (804-746-2475) out of Ed Allen's Boats and Bait reported that Chickahominy Lake mid-day water temperatures were in the mid 50's in the lower lake and in the lower 50's in the upper lake on Wednesday. The lake level was about 6 inches above the top of the dam and dropping. The water was dark but not cloudy or muddy in the lower lake. Crappie were scattered over the mid-depth channels throughout the lake and were hitting primarily on minnows. Fishing with Capt. Conway, Capt. Bill Buck had 30 crappie and 2 white perch.
