Lady Chris 4 hour flounder trip, Cape May 9-24

A friend called me last night and asked me to go flounder fishing on the Lady Chris in Cape May. we took a 4 hour trip. Evidently there are 4 boats in Cape May and several in North Jersey that bought federal licenses to fish for the research set aside quota. I think it lasts until Oct 12th. We had a great 4 hour trip. The water was beautiful and so was the weather. We started out in 47 feet of water off of Wildwood. There were about 20 on the boat. Ther caught 1 throwback, a few bluefish and some croakers there. Captain Mike then moved a couple of miles further off shore. We caugh some sma;ll sharks , some skates, a lot of croakers. One guy finally hooked up with the pool winner, a 2 1/2 lb flounder. It was also the only keeper of the day. Everyone seemed to have a good time. The captain tried to put us on fish. It's hard tp go long distances on a 4 hour trip. The mate, Toby Houser was very attentive to the passengers and worked really hard. Toby is pictured holding the pool winner..
