'JUST ONE MORE' FISHING REPORT, 8/7/11...ANOTHER 6 LB. FLUKE!
The open boat trips always seem to pay off big with either a large fish or a great number of fish caught. Well this open boat trip had both! On Friday, we had aboard, George, Dylan, Nick, and Nick. It was another great day of nearly constant action. We landed a total of 35 fluke. And Dylan, landed the largest fluke of his life at 6 lbs.!! The big fish measured 23" and you can see it in the attached photo. That is the second 6 lbr. caught on the boat this season in nearly the exact same place. There is great fishing right now for the flat fish and a lot of fish are just missing the keeper mark. A fluke trip like we have been doing is great family fun. Time to get out there and catch up a lot of Sandy Hook Bay and Raritan Bay fluke. Mixed in for even more action has been bluefish, sea robins, small sea bass, and very large cow nose rays.
This week has days open if anyone wants to charter. And we may be doing an open boat trip for monster bluefish with the famous Bluefish Bob if you want to get in on the action. I will keep you updated with the day we pick. THANKYOU.
